Relax in Kariba
Nestled amongst mopane trees on the shores of Lake Kariba, Warthogs is a prime spot for a stopover en route to Mana, Matusadona, and beyond.
It’s also a perfect base for a few days relaxing in Kariba, being close to shops, harbours, and local attractions. Warthogs is also the only facility with safari tented accommodation on Kariba mainland. We have two types of en-suite safari tents…
The “Classic” sleeps two people per tent and the larger “Family” sleeps up to four people.
Each Safari Tent is hidden in the trees and overlooks the lake and floodplain. On the verandah you can sit back and be at one with nature and watch the world go by. There are power points and fans for your comfort and convenience.
Since COVID times we have also revamped the campsite area…. built new ablutions for campers, with ladies and gents toilets and hot showers. We have also developed 4 campsites, each with dedicated power outlets, water points, braai areas and shaded seating areas. There is also an open air shower and toilet with washing up area behind. We offer a laundry service and overnight parking facilities for those wanting to leave their vehicles and trailers while they head off elsewhere or onto houseboats etc.
Get close to Africa
Being situated in a game corridor there are no fences so there is also plenty of game around. Zebras, Hippo, Elephants, Waterbuck, and Bushbuck and are frequent visitors into camp. There are also the occasional stealthy guests such as Lion, Leopard and Wild Dog seen in the area.
The bird life is flourishing and we have an ever increasing bird checklist.
